Summary
Assisting in running social group class with Adults with Learning Disabilities, helping them in transitioning into Adulthood.Detailed description
Impact: Helping Adults with Learning Disabilities (AwLDs) in transitioning into Adulthood
Mission: Upskilling AwLDs in living independently
Responsibilities:
- Assisting a group of AwLDs in planning activities, organizing outings and generalizing mastered skills in the public
- Having overnight stays activities with AwLDs (Optional)

OPTIONS is a house that runs Supported Living programme for people with learning difficulties to enjoy weekend overnight stay; learn basic life skills and social skill such as household chores, grocery shopping, taking public transport, making friends, having pets, care of personal hygiene & personal safety, express their feelings and making own choices.OPTIONS is also a place that equip the young adults the skills to cope with the working environment.
The program also promotes better social inclusion of People with Learning Difficulties into the mainstream of society.
In OPTIONS, family members discuss and debate the issues of ‘letting go’ in order to enable their sons/ daughters to grow and one day be able to manage their own lives.
D&S encourages parents/guardians in taking up leadership to operate the programme.
